A full stack software engineer living in Manhattan

Skills

I am skilled in modern front-end and back-end technologies. On the front end, I use React / React-Native with Redux and jQuery to write clean, efficient code. On the back end, I am highly experienced with Node.js as well as SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and PostreSQL.

I am a firm believer in writing testable code, especially when working with RESTful APIs. Therefore, I regularly incorporate Mocha and Chai when writing unit and integration tests for my applications.

Background

After graduating college in 2015, I began my career as an Analyst in the Asset Management group at JP Morgan in New York. In my role, I advised ultra-high net worth clients on all aspects of investing and money management: from security valuation and analysis, to portfolio construction and management, to trust, estate and tax planning. While at JP Morgan, I completed all 3 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examination process, as well as the first level of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) examination process.

Despite originally pursuing the finance track, I have always had a passion for technology and software. In my prior role, I had the opportunity to follow venture capital firms and learn about their portfolio companies. Getting introduced to the start-ups, people and technologies at work in the tech community is what ultimately inspired me to leave my old career and pursue a brand new future as a software engineer.
